ISSUE:

How do I set up Eudora to check and send email?

OR

I just changed Internet Service Providers and now need to change Eudora to check and send differently. How do I change my settings?

SOLUTION:

Setting up Eudora is easy if you have the right information. You will need to look through the information you got from your Internet Service Provider or give them a call and find out the following information. Once you have it, you are ready to set up Eudora.

Use this form to fill in what you need and save it for future reference.

  • Your POP or mail server:

  • Your SMTP or outgoing mail server:

  • Your e-mail login name:

  • Your e-mail address:

Now you are ready to get started!

In Eudora, go to the Tools menu and select OPTIONS.

Use the buttons below to step through the Tutorial.

Start Over

If the left and right arrows do not appear above or do not work, please use the non-javascript version of this tutorial below.

Step 1.

In the Options window, you will see several icons on the left. Select GETTING STARTED (circled in red).

Step 2.

In the REAL NAME field, type your name the way you would like people to see it when they get email from you. For example, John Doe.

Step 3.

In the RETURN ADDRESS field, enter your email address. For example: netdor-user@netdor.com.

Step 4.

In the MAIL SERVER (INCOMING) field, enter the POP or mail server. For example: ns.netdor.com

Step 5.

In the LOGIN NAME field, enter the login name. For example:
netdor-user

Step 6.

In the SMTP SERVER (OUTGOING) field, enter the SMTP or Outgoing mail server. For example: ns.netdor.com

Step 7.

There should be a check in the ALLOW AUTHENTICATION field. Leave the check there. If you do not see a check in the box, click on the box with your mouse until a check appears.

Step 8.

Click OK. This completes the basic setup - you should now be able to send and receive email in Eudora.
